IGI Enhances Portfolio with the Launch of New Legal Expenses Insurance product
International General Insurance Holdings Limited (IGI), the international specialist commercial insurer and reinsurer, has expanded its growing portfolio of insurance business with the launch of Legal Expenses Insurance.
The new class of business has been introduced in line with IGI’s efforts to expand operations to respond to the needs of clients and brokers. The product offers coverage for both Before-the-Event (BTE) and After-the-Event (ATE) Legal Expenses Insurance and is primarily aimed at commercial risks.
The product will cover the legal exposures that these businesses face in their day-to-day business activities. Business can be written on direct placements, through coverholders, line slips or as a reinsurance contract.
Terry Mason has been appointed to develop legal expenses insurance at IGI, bringing with him over 25 years’ experience in the sector. Terry previously held roles at Markel International and most recently Brit Global Specialty where he was the Legal Expenses Class Underwriter.
He will report to Andreas Loucaides, Chief Executive Officer of IGI UK.
Mr Mason said: “I am excited to be joining IGI in this new role, an organisation with a strong vision and real commitment to outstanding customer service, which is incredibly important to me. I look forward to developing this new class of business at IGI.”
Andreas Loucaides, Chief Executive Officer of IGI UK, said: “IGI will continually add specialty lines of business to help enhance our market standing in line with our vision of prudent and well-managed growth.
“We are committed to enhancing our global programmes and expertise with top talent such as Terry, whose extensive experience will ensure our clients and brokers get the best possible service that addresses their risks now and in the future.”
